Origin
Vitabyte started in 2004 as a POS and payments company — deploying systems like Oracle Simphony, training operators, and keeping hospitality businesses running.
That work gave us something no software company can buy: direct, sustained exposure to how enterprise hospitality actually operates. We installed the systems. We saw them fail to communicate. We watched operators spend hours on manual reconciliation because their POS, payment processor, and reporting tools could not share data.
We built integrations. We built workarounds. We solved problems one at a time — and eventually recognized that the real problem was structural.
The hospitality industry did not lack software. It lacked a system.
The Shift
The decision to shift from reselling and integrating technology to building an operating platform was not a pivot — it was an inevitability.
The same operators we had served for years were telling us the same thing: their systems could not keep up with the complexity of multi-location operations, multi-channel payments, and the demand for real-time decision-making.
At the same time, enterprise infrastructure like Oracle Simphony had become the standard for transactions — but the gaps between systems were more visible and more costly than ever.
And the emergence of AI made it clear: intelligence is only valuable when it sits on top of unified, real-time data. Without that foundation, AI in hospitality is surface-level.
Vitabyte exists at the intersection of these shifts — standardized infrastructure, fragmented operations, and the arrival of intelligence as an execution layer.
The market was ready for an operating platform. We had spent two decades preparing to build one.
